This is the island where it is said St Francis was shipwrecked. Franciscan Friars have owned it since the early 1200s and it remains a quiet and peaceful haven, undisturbed by the tribulations that have swept through its busier neighbors. The island's buildings are few, but include a church and two cloisters.
